National Telecommunicators Week 2016

A plaque was presented to staff from the Lake EMS and Sumter EMS Communications Centers on behalf of the Lake-Sumter Fire Chief’s Association in recognition of National Telecommunicators Week 2016.

Chief Morgan presented plaques on behalf of the Lake-Sumter Fire Chiefs’ Association to honor their respective Communications Center staff during the week of April 13-19, 2014.  This is the time frame designated by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International as National Public Safety Telecommunicators’ Week when communication centers around the United States recognize the invaluable contributions that EMS, police and fire telecommunicators and dispatchers make by being the first responders to emergency calls from citizens.
